Description:
This morning, we drive through dramatic mountains dotted with strawberry plantations on our way to the Poás Volcano National Park.
Enjoy an aromatic cup of authentic Costa Rican coffee with a local breakfast. The perfect preparation for our ascent to the park. As temperatures vary, different vegetation announces the proximity of the exuberant cloud forest of the volcano with its magnificent and eternally enigmatic crater.
As we make our way towards the Caribbean, explore La Paz Waterfall Gardens observing butterflies and hummingbirds. Never will you feel more a part of the splendour of the rainforest, than hiking down the trails alongside the river and the most amazing waterfalls. A delightful lunch, and we are on the way to Sarapiquí.
The journey continues showing the characteristics of the Atlantic area, across its warm, quaint towns and farmhouses that shelter gorgeous pineapple, yucca, coco, and heart of palm plantations. A boat ride on the Sarapiquí River, before returning to San Jose via a drive through the Braulio Carrillo National Park.
