Irazu Volcano & Lankester Gardens & Orosi Valley

 Destination:
  Central Valley

Description:

Breakfast, and we set out on an exciting day.  As you travel along the southern slope of the volcano to the park, the potato, onion, and cabbage fields give way to dairy farms at higher elevations. The next eruption cant be predicted with much accuracy, but currently the only activity in the crater is from fumaroles releasing toxic steam.

On our way down, and entering the city of Cartago, we pay a visit to the beautiful Basilica of Our Lady of The Angels (basilica de Nuestra Senora de los Angeles).

Then, Lankester Gardens a tropical paradise featuring over 800 varieties of exotic orchids, various tropical flowers, and plant life.
Continue with a ride through the unique beauty of the famous Orosí Valley and Reventazón River.  A relaxing lunch, in a gorgeous setting, and farewell.
