TAM Tour Guides

Costa Rican guides are well known for their sincere dedication to personal service, caring and hospitality. 

TAM is fortunate to have a select group of the most experienced and knowledgeable tour guides to guarantee a perfect performance at every stage of our itineraries.  Bright people, with the ability to convey their knowledge and provide information in a simple, amusing way, revealing the many intricate wonders of the region´s geography, history, and its wildlife.

Our tour guides great performance is the result of a careful training program, day-by-day, plus systematic training for an entire week every year.  This training program, which we call:  Guides University was first implemented more than six years ago.  Since then, we have gathered the best of all guides every year in this Annual Workshop, where we deal with the most interesting topics that will awaken the imagination of all our visitors.

Most of our TAM Guides possess proficiency in more than two languages, to include: French, German and English, in addition to their native Spanish.

Private Transfers

Private guided services are perfect for passengers who wish to enhance their chance to learn, or seize the opportunity to visit an attraction on the way.  To assist our guests in these pursuits, our knowledgeable expert guides, offer informal lectures, lead excursions, and welcome your questions.
These services include a driver, and also a bilingual tour guide. TAM uses modern A/C minivans, 4-wheel vehicles, or minibuses.
We offer guided or non guided private transfer thruout the country.
 

Domestic Regular Flights

You can choose to fly to your destination on either regularly scheduled flights or private charters. There are several airlines that provide services, from San José to all domestic airports, in modern and safe one or two engine airplanes. TAM recommends the following domestic airlines with flights leaving, and arriving into San José: 

NATURE AIR and SANSA.
Regular scheduled flights leave either from the domestic airport near Juan Santamaría International Airport (SANSA), or from Tobías Bolaños Airport, located in Pavas, San José (NATURE AIR). Regular flights serve most of the country´´s tourist areas, including the North Pacific, Central Pacific and South Pacific areas, as well as Daniel Oduber International Airport at Liberia. Most of the regular flights leave from San Jose only and do not serve interdestinational flights. Once tickets are issued they are not refunable.

Some domestic airports are just landing strips, and do not have any additional facilities for passengers.
Maximum luggage weight allowed per person is 25 pounds. Flight schedules depend on the season (dry or green season) and are subject to change without notice.
We do not recommend flying in the afternoon during the green season or schedule your regular flight the same day of arrival or departure of your international flight.

Regular fligths offer services from San Jose to:
Barra del Colorado, Coto 47, Liberia, Nosara, Palmar Sur, Drake Bay, Puerto Jimenez, Punta Islita, Quepos, Samara, Tamarindo, Tambor, Tortuguero, Arenal, Granada (Nicaragua).

Costa Rica Car Rental

TAM cooperates with several worldwide, renowned car rental companies to guarantee availability in any season. Depending on the company, rental policies might vary; however, following are the main conditions/regulations:

- An additional airport tax must be paid, with some companies, if the car is directly delivered to the airport.
- Most car rentals have free pick-up and drop-off services in San José, in addition to both airports.

- Free mileage.

- Insurance expenses might vary depending on the vehicle and car rental.

- Drivers must be 21 years old, and have a valid driver´´s license and passport. 

- Client must make a deposit directly to the car rental, payable in cash, or by any of the major credit cards. 

- Fuel is not included.

- Thank must be full when returning the car.

Limousine Services

TAM offers deluxe strech limousine services and town cars for many unique and unforgettable Events such  as: VIP clients, anniversaries, birthday parties, transfer to the Airport or hotel, executive transportation, proms, etc.

We offer strech limousines for up to 6 passengers or Lincoln town cars for 2 or 3. All services include a bilingual driver.

VIP Lounge Juan Santamaria International Airport

Enter in a relaxing and modern atmosphere with the best wireless technology, the VIP Lounge allows clients access from their own computers.

There is a meeting room available with 24 hours previous reservation. The meeting room has catering service, internet access, video beam, and others.
The VIP Lounge has amazing Plasma televisions, which contribute to a relaxing time while traveling.  Smoking area available.

The service is available from 5:00 am, until 11:00 pm.
While visiting the VIP lounge you can enjoy free snacks.

Cell phone rentals

TAM offers a special service for all those who do not want to loose contact with your loved ones back home or for business travellers. You can rent your own personal cell phone for your stay in Costa Rica, to be in touch with local operators, your personal executives, family, business partners or new made friends or emergencies.

Now, you can move anywhere in Costa Rica with cellular service from the moment you arrive.
Requirements for the rent of cellular phones and satellite phones are:

- Over 21 years old
- Identification documents

- Major credit card (AMEX, VISA, MASTER CARD)

- Rates can be daily, weekly or monthly    

- You will pay a deposit and the taxes, and for the international and local air time minutes.

- All phones include accessories.

- Taxes are not included, and all incoming and out going calls (air time) will be charged at the specified rate.
